Confessions

I throw pennies away.

  1. Vending machines, toll machines, and many stores do not accept pennies. If its copper coating gets breached, a penny will rapidly corrode into a sharp object. Studies show that rounding prices to the nearest 5¢ would have almost no impact on consumers. Most importantly, as of 2008, it costs roughly 1.7¢ to mint a penny. Stop throwing your pennies away. Scrap them and make .7¢ off the metal.
