Philadelphia actually won something today. Wha? The City of Brotherly Love was awarded the honor of having the next MLS soccer team call this their new home in 2010. The Web site was up before the ink dried on the Philly papers this morning, and tickets are already on sale. A little eager are we?
But who can blame 'em? It's about time Philly got some (soccer) balls. I'm hoping Philly fans can come pretty close to rivaling the enthusiasm and raw fanaticism that soccer matches bring in Europe and South America. If nothing else, we have one more team with a chance at winning something. Anything.
